Timing jitter

Spreads related transactions apart to defeat timing analysis.

What it is

A withdrawal that lands seconds after a deposit is easy to link. Timing jitter spreads related transactions apart.

How it works

Related transactions (for example the parts of a split action) are sent at spread-out times instead of back to back.

Limits

  • Jitter adds delay. A trade that must land now is a trade that cannot be spread out.
  • Jitter makes timing analysis harder. It does not make it impossible, especially when the anonymity set is small.
